Raleigh charter school accused of falsifying records for special education students

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — One of Raleigh’s oldest charter colleges could quickly be pressured to shut its doorways.

Torchlight Academy serves close to 600 elementary and center university students the vast majority of whom are Black or Hispanic.

In accordance to our newsgathering companions at the News & Observer, university officials stand accused of falsifying information of some exclusive-instruction learners.

The State Board of Training is scheduled to vote Thursday on if the school will be placed on probation. If it is put on probation, Torchlight Academy will have 30 times to deal with the problems or threat owning its charter revoked.
